now I cant search for updates on Asus. Any info or help at all would be great. For the issue related to App:Step 1: Update graphics card drivers. Step 2: Install the drivers in compatibility mode. Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows. Step 3: Try increasing the resolution to 1366*768 and try opening App.

Verify that no stray wires and such are around (or splits in any) and try booting again. I have had a grounding issue in one case before that was semi-similar. – nerdwaller.

Asus phone support told me to enable ErP. If this doesn't work I should remove the battery and place it reverted in the socket for max. 1 minute and don't turn the PC on. Then place the battery the correct way and boot. If this won't work doing a CMOS reset. Sounds like "have turned your PC off and on?"
